Thought the pan had an aluminum core to keep its weight down. So, the pan is much heavier than expected.
Hi John, thanks for the feedback. Just to clarify, Yahgan pans are made from one solid piece of carbon steel — there’s no aluminium core. That extra mass is intentional, as it helps the pan hold heat properly and cook more evenly.
They are around one-third lighter than a traditional cast iron pan, but they will still feel much heavier than a non-stick or lightweight clad pan.

I really like this pan, I am using it on a Bosch induction cooktop. Follow the guidelines and it works great, yes even frying eggs. No more non Stick, changed to this pan and cast iron, wish I had done it sooner.
